The 30.4-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor delivers low-noise images with enormous detail even in high brightness or darkness. With the higher resolution, nothing is lost and you can crop the image as needed without loss of quality.
Exceptional low-light shots
The low-light properties have been optimized over the entire ISO range: The image noise has been significantly reduced and the maximum sensitivity has been increased to ISO 32,000 (expandable up to ISO 102,400). So you can reliably record even with low light with high image quality.

With the 61-point AF system, which can track even abrupt movements, you always have the action in focus. For this purpose, the EOS 5D Mark IV distributed the 61 AF fields1 over a larger area - an 8% vertical extension and a 24% horizontal extension. This increases the freedom in choosing the motif placement for the image composition.
Fast focus tracking even in low light
An extremely sensitive AF sensor provides the focusing power of the EOS 5D Mark IV, which is ensured to -3 LW2. In Live View mode, the Dual Pixel CMOS AF is even sensitive to -4 LW3.
First-class AF precision, even with long zooms
Nature and sports photographers often have to work with super-telephoto lenses and extenders to reproduce their motifs in full format. With 61 AF-fields, of which 21 are cross-sensors up to 1:81, a precise focus is much easier.
150,000-pixel metering sensor
For accurate metering, the EOS 5D Mark IV uses a special 150,000-pixel (RGB + IR) sensor. This sensor also works with the camera's AF system to detect and track colored subjects and faces.
A processor for the right performance
At the heart of the EOS 5D Mark IV is the fast DIGIC 6+ processor that controls the camera. This includes the conversion of the sensor data into high-quality image data, which are characterized by a high degree of detail, low image noise, precise colors and natural skin tones.

The EOS 5D Mark IV provides continuous shooting at up to 7 frames per second with full AF and auto exposure for up to 21 RAW images, or an unlimited number of JPEGs in a sequence.
